Samsung Dryer Not Heating: Settings, Vent & Service

If a Samsung dryer tumbles but clothes stay wet, first separate “no heat at all” from slow drying with some warmth. Samsung’s US support guide treats those as different paths. A blocked vent, lint, load size, and Eco Dry setting can change drying time, but a completely cold drum may need service.

Stop for overheating or a blocked vent

Do not continue drying with a burning odor, severe heat, or a persistent vent blockage warning.

Check the simple conditions

  1. Record the full model, fuel type, cycle, and any displayed code.
  2. Check whether the selected cycle intentionally reduces heat, such as Eco Dry on applicable models.
  3. Clean the removable lint screen and look for a blocked exterior vent.
  4. If the dryer is still completely cold, follow the exact model’s official troubleshooting path or arrange service.

Why C80 and C90 need context

C90, where supported, is a Vent Blockage test result. It should not be read as a generic heating-element fault. A passing vent test does not rule out every drying issue; compare the test with the model manual.
